Who we are

The Arkansas Valley RCA is the southeast Colorado chapter of the Revolutionary Communists of America — a national organization of workers and youth fighting for socialism.

We are your neighbors. We work the same jobs, shop the same stores, and struggle under the same landlords and bosses as everyone else on the plains. What sets us apart is a conviction: that the crises of our time — poverty, exploitation, a planet on fire — are not accidents. They are the predictable results of a system built to enrich a tiny few at the expense of the many.

We believe that system can be changed, and that the working class is the force to change it.

What we do

• Study. We read and discuss the ideas of Marxism together, because understanding the world is the first step to changing it.
• Organize. We build power where we live and work — in our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our community.
• Act. We show up for one another and for every fight against exploitation and oppression in the Arkansas Valley.

Why southeast Colorado

The high plains are too often written off — by the coastal press, by the political establishment, by the corporations that extract our labor and our resources and give little back. We reject that. Working people here have a long history of struggle, and a future worth fighting for.

We’re not waiting for someone else to organize us. We’re doing it ourselves.
