What We Stand For
Our principles
We fight for a society organized around human need, not private profit. In concrete terms, that means:
The working class must rule
Society’s wealth is created by those who work. Yet the decisions that shape our lives are made by a tiny class of owners and their political servants. We fight for a world where working people democratically control the economy and the government — where the wealth we produce serves all of us.
An injury to one is an injury to all
We stand against every form of exploitation and oppression — of workers, of the poor, of the marginalized. The bosses profit by dividing us along lines of race, gender, origin, and status. We refuse that division. Our strength is our solidarity.
The plains are worth fighting for
Rural and small-town working people have been abandoned by both parties and courted only at election time. We reject the idea that southeast Colorado is a place to be written off. We organize where we are, for the people who are here.
Change comes from below
No politician will hand us liberation. The billionaires will not vote themselves out of power. Real change has always come from ordinary people organizing, building power, and refusing to accept the unacceptable. That is the work we’re here to do.
The bigger picture
The Arkansas Valley RCA is part of the Revolutionary Communists of America, a national organization fighting for socialism in the United States and part of a worldwide movement.
To learn more about the national organization’s full program and politics, ask us — we’re glad to share reading, point you to resources, and talk it through in person.
